On Re-entry
Astronauts are not the only ones who have re-entry issues. Have you ever noticed that after time away from the office you and your co-workers need to readjust to each other and the change in atmosphere?
Lorraine had enjoyed a calm atmosphere: the BBC playing in the background, everything in its place, neat desk tops everywhere she looked, no barking to announce visitors, no loud voices (it's hard to remember to modulate the Meagher voice volume perfected in the classroom and often stuck at loud or louder). Well, you can imagine how the atmosphere changed when Lil and I both returned.
My re-entry took me from the calm atmosphere of lolling beside a pool with book in hand, biking up quaint streets lined with palm trees, eating only two meals prepared by me back to an atmosphere of ringing phones, meetings, catching up with email and tasks with deadlines to be met.
The Chamber's Own Chamber Connection
You’ll get to see evidence first hand of a Chamber Connection in action if you are coming to the after hours event on Monday evening. Helping Lorraine behind the registration desk will be our new Events Intern, Renee St. Germain. Ray Thomas of the Young Adult Vocational Program arranged this opportunity for the Chamber and Renee. Over the next few newsletters you’ll be reading about more interns working with other Chamber members too.
Speaking of readjusting
Today’s essay and blog entry is brief. Look for a longer entry on Tuesday when I post photos and an update about the after hours event at Watertown Savings Bank. The turnout for this event is amazing. While pre-registration is closed, walk-in registration is welcome. We hope to see you there and make sure to welcome Renee to the Chamber!
